Creative Writing Club

Each Thursday lunch time, students from Years 7 and 8 attend Key Stage 3 Creative Writing Club in Dr Johnstone's classroom in the English Department, where they write, discuss, and perform poetry, stories, and scenes from plays.
Several students from Year 12 — most of whom are studying A level English Literature — assist in the running of the club, providing insight and giving up their time to help the budding attendees.
Rishit from 7S, who has taken a leading role in the club this term, writes:
“At Creative Writing Club, we write poems, stories and plays - and also get to perform what we have written. In recent weeks, we have taken inspiration from paintings, famous plays and poems, the changing seasons, the new year and dreams. We also get to talk about our ideas with the sixth-form students who help at the club, who also help us to edit and improve our work."
